Love it! Gifts for Kids this Valentine’s Day

Valentine’s Day is one of my favorite times of the year- a celebration of love with family, friends, and especially my little ones! As a mom of three, this holiday is all about creating sweet memories and making my kids feel extra special with heartfelt gestures. Whether it’s making a heart-shaped dinner with a little extra love, hiding cutesy love notes for them to find, or planning a cozy family movie night, it’s my way of doing a little extra to show them how much they’re loved!

One of my favorite Valentine’s Day traditions is choosing a gift for each of them that will spark joy. This year, I’ve been exploring some amazing options from LeapFrog that are perfect for Valentine’s Day. Whether you’re a fellow parent, grandparent, or anyone simply looking for a thoughtful present for the little ones in your life, this LeapFrog gift guide has something for every age and stage.

Gifting a Love of Learning

When it comes to picking out gifts for my kids, I always lean toward items that are not only fun but also intentional. LeapFrog toys are some of my favorites because they are interactive, engaging, spark creativity, and encourage learning in ways that still feel like playtime! Whether it’s teaching first words, exploring colors and shapes, or fostering a love for music, these toys make a lasting impact. LeapFrog toys are designed to grow with your child, making them an excellent choice to share the love through the years and even share the love amongst siblings, which is a huge win in a house with three kids! Many of my recommendations on this list have a special place in my heart because they’ve been so loved by my own children throughout the years.

If you’re looking for gifts for your little loves this Valentine’s Day, here are some of my top LeapFrog picks for babies, toddlers, and preschoolers.

Gift Ideas for Babies

My Pal Violet Smarty Paws (ages 6+ months)

This cuddly, customizable puppy is the absolute cutest first Valentine’s gift. Violet’s touch-sensitive paws light up with fun songs, games, and mindfulness exercises. To make this gift even more special, you can personalize Violet with your child’s name, favorite color, and more! I still remember the way my toddler's face lit up every time Violet said her name- it was priceless!

Fruit Colors Learning Smoothie (ages 6+ months)

This adorably fun smoothie cup is the perfect size for tiny hands and a playful way to encourage early learning! The straw can be used as a teething toy. You can also shake up the cup to hear bouncing bubble beads and swivel the straw to choose a “flavor,” and the cup will change its color to match! It teaches colors, introduces cute fruit characters, and plays catchy songs in various music styles (reggae, pop, punk rock, and country). My youngest, Josie, is always dancing around the house to its fun tunes.

These maracas make it so much fun for babies to explore rhythm and sound. One maraca includes colorful shaker beads while the other features a light-up dome that changes colors and plays sound effects. With modes to introduce colors, numbers, and music, these maracas are always a hit during playtime. They’ve turned many impromptu musical jam sessions into fun learning moments!

Gifts for Toddlers

Shapes & Sharing Picnic Basket (ages 6-36 months)

Here's your sign to plan a pretend Valentine’s Day picnic! This interactive basket is a must-have. It comes with colorful plates, forks, and shape-sorting food pieces that teach colors, shapes, and manners. It is a favorite here in my house for imaginative playtime and my three kiddos love setting up and having living room picnics together.

4-in-1 Learning Hamburger (ages 12+ months)

This stacking toy is SO cute! As toddlers stack each layer onto the pole, the ingredients spin to the bottom. The ingredients feature bright colors and textures to explore. One of my favorite things is the multiple ways to play; this can be a stacking toy, but you can also remove the center of the burger to match the puzzle pieces and even play a game of ring toss! Plus, it’s made from 85% reclaimed plastic, so it’s an eco-friendly option too.

Learning Friends 100 Words Book (ages 18+ months)

This interactive book is one of my all-time favorites and a toy all three of my kids have enjoyed immensely. The touch-sensitive pages are so inviting as your little loves explore words, exciting sounds, and fun facts. With 12 categories of words and bilingual play options, it’s perfect for fostering early language development and building vocabulary. My 10-year-old still enjoys looking through the book with my youngest. It’s so sweet to see them bonding over learning new things together.

Nest & Count Turtle Tower (ages 12+ months)

These colorful, numbered turtles are fun to play with and can be used in so many ways! Little ones can practice motor skills by stacking from biggest to smallest, count and feel the textured turtle shells, nest the turtles to play a game of hide-and-seek, and use the cord to pull the turtles along behind them. The turtles' wobbling movement adds an extra element of fun, and it’s always good for a few giggles.

Gift Ideas for Preschoolers

2-in-1 LeapTop Touch (ages 2-5 years old)

This is the perfect gift for tech-savvy preschoolers who want to be just like mom or dad with their own laptop! Open it to use the laptop in keyboard mode, then close and swivel the screen to play on the touch-screen tablet. This laptop provides an interactive way to learn and features several different modes: ABCs, numbers, games, music, and messaging. My 4-year-old, Josie, loves pretending to email Scout as well as learning how to spell her name thanks to the customizable settings. The carry handle makes it perfect for on-the-go fun.

Chat & Count Emoji Phone (ages 18+ months)

Dial-up some pretend play with this toy phone that lets kiddos make and receive pretend calls, explore numbers and counting through fun animations, and add their own emojis to videos they watch from Violet. It's so adorable to hear Josie “chat” with the toy’s friendly voice.

LeapFrog has always been a brand I love because their toys are designed with both parents and kids in mind. They combine fun, education, and thoughtfulness, which is why they’re such a big part of our household and always at the top of my gift recommendations!

So, this Valentine’s Day, give the gift of learning, laughter, and love. Your kids’ smiles will make it the sweetest day of all!
